Josephine and Fergus are delighted to share their exciting news with their loyal patients of Weir and McClafferty Dental Care.

Due to the ever increasing demand of both NHS and private dental care services we have seized a great opportunity to relocate our practice to a new refurbished contemporary five surgery dental practice to be housed within the former Municipal Buildings on Shore Street, Gourock.

A central location was of prime importance to us to enable our existing patients to access Weir and McClafferty Dental Care using public transport links whilst also providing parking facilities within close proximity. The new premises will also provide good access and facilities for patients with a disability.

The Refurbishment Works on the building have just started with a move date currently anticipated for Autumn 2016.

Rebecca has recently achieved a Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng). This additional qualification will help to expand Rebecca's skills as a general dental practitioner

Rebecca will be attending a ceremoney of presentation at The Royal College of Surgeons of England on Tuesay 8th May.

Loch loMan Triathlon, Lomond Shores, Loch Lomond Sun 17th May 2015

Distances: 1.9km swim, 86km Cycle, 20kn run. Due to temperature conditions (air temperature colder than water temperature) the swim was reduced from 1900m to 500m.

Time: 05:32:44

As you may have seen in the practice, Fergus took part in the "Loch loMan" endurance triathlon on Sunday 18th May 2015. Due to the horrible weather conditions and to avoid anyone dying of hypothermia the swim was reduced from the proposed 1900m to 500m but other than that the distances were unaltered. (95km cycle and 20km run). The cycle route was pretty hilly which, when added to cold, wet and windy didn't make for the best cycling conditions! "Heid down keep pedalling" being the best motto. Fergus managed to get around the route in 5:32:44 and afterwards reported that never had a warm cup of tea and a burger tasted so good.

We would like to thank everyone for their warm words of encouragement and donations which have realized in excess of £900 for Ardgowan Hospice, a charity that we are sure you will agree is a very worthwhile local charity.

Fergus, Amanda and Claire attended the ITI UK conference in Liverpool in December. This allowed them to expand their knowledge in implantology and meet colleagues involved in this field.
